John Bezjian's Musical Legacy Fund

Donation protected

To anyone who ever met John Bezjian, it quickly became clear that music, synthesizers/organs, was a huge part of John's life and passion.   As any of the great composing, music creating, duo's of history, John shared this passion with his partner, Dennis Anderson, between the two of them, they have been quite prolific over the years, creating hours of rough edit music.  John and Dennis have created musical sounds for musical greats, recorded the composed music to the TV show "Murphy's Law", and provided music for film and stage productions.

After a long battle with illness, John Bezjian, recently passed away on the morning of Oct 9th, 2017.  John had an extensive collection of keyboards, mixing boards, etc, all the components needed to put together a full recording studio.

John was a personal friend to Bob Moog the creator of the synthesizer. He worked for Moog, Fairlight, and EMU during his career as a salesman for all three companies. While working for these various companies John created sounds and samples that were produced by the synthesizers,  many of them still in use today.

John was one of those rare musicians who understood both sides of the creative music process. Able to both create wonderful music and then switch over and take care of the technical side of the production. John was well known for being able to make the mini Moog sing.

Dennis has undertaken the job of transporting, restoring and rebuilding this studio.  Dennis also has committed to finish the significant backlog of music that he and John composed.   Dennis plans to use John's studio to finish producing John's music.  To personally see that John's musical legacy continues long after John's passing.

All of this at great personal expense.

In addition to the above expense, over the previous 16 yrs, Dennis has  been contributing money to a private account for their UCLA future foundaton to ensure that a studio will be installed in a sound lab at UCLA, where students will be able to learn how to and record their music in "John's studio".  This sound lab will bear John's name.

To me, John was my brother, much closer than mere 'friends'.  I personally met John about 9yrs ago, but it has seemed like I've known John for decades.  As kindred night owls, John and I spent many a late night sharing conversation while smoking cigars, talking about everything, but most often music, his passion, experiences, etc.

I have started this go fund me page to raise  money to help offset the cost of all that has been mentioned above.

I personally feel that this would be the best way to pay forward all that John provided to me and the many, many others he touched in his lifetime.  To assist Dennis in getting John's music out there, to be used for future entertainment productions, to help train future musicians via a future John's studio at UCLA, would be the best way to keep John's memory alive.

So I am asking everyone who knew John, who ever met or communicated with John, to help contribute to establishing and protecting John's musical legacy.

All of the funds raised through this page will be given to Dennis to help pay the expenses this endeavor will require.

After spending the last 3 wks with Dennis, for hours at a time, both in the hospital with John and then for the final 17 days of John's stay in a hospice care center,  I have come to trust Dennis implicitly, without a shred of doubt that Dennis is fully committed to protecting John's legacy.

This go fund me page was completely my idea, because I share Dennis's passion to protect John's musical legacy.

I believe that I am not alone in this passion.
