John and Cheryl Underhill

John and Cheryl Underhill are lifelong Bishop community members who have given so much. They have been an integral part in many organizations and are extremely selfless in their giving. If there is a need and they can help, they do it with no hesitation. They are an example of what it is to be active in a community to make it better for everyone.
In preparation for Cheryl’s retirement, they had tucked away money to put a new roof on their house, paint and redo their driveway. That way all the big ticket items were done and their house would be their retirement haven. Recently, their house was broken into and thieves stole the money that John and Cheryl had worked hard to save, and yes it was secured in a safe. Leaving them in the middle of their house projects and unable to get them finished, they had to cancel the work orders and the contractors that were going to do the work.
These are two people who you will see up early on holidays to line our city streets with flags or delivering Christmas trees to those in need. To taking days off work to give veterans a ride to the nearest VA hospital or buying a meal for the hungry, they are always there to help make the community a better place. Several people in our community have expressed desire to help the Underhills, so we set-up this funding page.
Please give what you can to help fund their necessary house projects. That way when Cheryl retires, their house is ready for them and this is one less stress they have, as they continue to serve those they love so much in our community.
A little more about the John and Cheryl
John is currently retired, but stays busy with many different community groups and helps a couple of local businesses while he waits for Cheryl to retire from Northern Inyo Hospital where she has worked since she was 19 years old. They have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren that they stay connected with and are never too busy for. They are involved in NIHD auxiliary, Bishop Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Sierra Cancer Alliance, Park & Recreation Commission, Salvation Army Shelter, Red Cross Disaster Team, Lions, VFW, American Legion just to name a few of the organizations. John is a Vietnam Veteran and Cheryl is a lifelong supporter of our troops. The Underhills have made it a personal mission to help others no matter what it takes, so let’s help them.
