Dear Family and Friends,
On December 6, our cousin Joey suffered a stroke and was flown to Stanford Hospital for emergency surgery to relieve bleeding and pressure on his brain. Only weeks ago, he was also diagnosed with a rare bacteria called Q fever which led to open heart surgery and a stay in the intensive care unit at UCLA Hospital.
He was just days away from returning to work and continuing his road to recovery when this most recent emergency occurred. After under-going hours of surgery, doctors were able to relieve the bleeding, but the severity of damage caused by the stroke is not yet clear.
Joey is a fighter and full of life which has helped him through these two terrible events. He is also a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many with 3 beautiful young children. In this time of need and during the holiday season and beyond, his family requires our prayers and support.
Our goal is to raise money to help with short and long-term care expenses for him and his family in order to hopefully give them even the smallest amount of relief in this challenging time.
We are beyond amazed at the generosity and love shown to Joey and his family during this time. Melanie, Joey's wife has been named as the beneficiary of this fund. Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do to support Joey and his family.
