Joey's Eyes

Just a few short years ago, Joey came to rescue from a high-kill Wichita shelter .
He came broken from abuse. At the time he was diagnosed with a detached retina in one eye due to a severe head trauma. We were also told his vision in the other eye could possibly deteriorate as well, due to other issues.
In spite of Joey's prior life and health issues, he was able to find true love in the home and heart of his now, mom. She has taken on all that comes with sweet Joey, a dog who looks at her with love in his eyes. She has been with him every step of the way, through anxiety issues, allergies, seizures and his vision scars.
Joey has a new battle to face with little time to spare. Another surgery is needed to help maintain the vision in his other eye. It is scheduled for * Tuesday October 5th.*
Joey has an ulcer on his eye. The vet said his eye has no new blood vessels forming, which means the eye won't heal on its own. Because of that, he'll need to have a procedure done to sand off the top layer of his eye to allow new blood vessels to grow, then make a 3rd eyelid flap If the first procedure isn't successful, they'll need to do an additional one.
For she, and a small organization like HHA, trying to come up with nearly $1,000 in less than a week to help Joey see without pain, is a feat we cannot acheive without your help.
