Joey Backofen Memorial Fund

How do we even begin to describe our love for Joe and explain how meaningful his life was?  He had a lifelong passion for music, singing everything from Elvis to the Eagles.  A winner of numerous singing competitions, he also started how own band Transition Radio.  He taught himself the guitar and even composed his own songs.  Joe would occasionally stop into the local VFW to strike up conversation and sing oldies to the vets.  He enjoyed singing in church as well.

Joe was a spiritual man who began each morning by reading a verse of the day.  He spent many hours reading his Bible and highlighting his favorite passages.  In addition to these pursuits, Joe loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He adored his parents Ann and Charlie and three older brothers Tim, Ken and Jim.  Joe loved playing with his nieces Olivia, Riley, Hannah and Peyton and his nephew Derek.  His smile and laughter lit up every family gathering.  Our lives will never be complete without him. 

When it comes to friendship, there were too many lives touched by Joe to even begin to describe.  However this lifelong love for his high school sweetheart Amanda has never wavered.  Despite spending some time apart, they will forever share a bond through their beautiful son Lyric Joseph.  We all know he will grow up surrounded by infinite love and will deeply feel the peace and security from his fatherly Guardian Angel watching over him from above.

In order to honor this beloved man, the family is planning to hold a memorial service.  Because his young life was tragically cut short at only 37 years, he had not planned for his final expenses.  This campaign will assist the family with those costs.  Any amount raised in excess of our goal will go directly to Joe's three year old son Lyric.  Thank you all for your generosity and God bless you.
