Joe's Journey to Recovery

Hello everyone that maybe reading this. This is my husbands Father Joe. He is the only grandpa the kids know and we almost lost him due to the negligence of a dentist office. We just wanted to give you the background to the reason we have made this Go Fund Me account.
About a month ago Joe's dad was having some problems with his partial for his teeth. He made a decision to go to a dentist to see what his options were. He had it in his mind to get dentures. He wanted to be able to eat with out any issues and feel better!! Nothing wrong with that right. He went in for the procedure and had 15 teeth pulled at 1 time with no sedation. He was sent home with only ibuprofen and a pain medication no antibiotics were prescribed. He took those meds as directed. He started swelling and had a lump under his jaw. He called the office and was advised that this is normal and to just wait for his follow up appointment. He never made it to that follow up appointment. We were calling to check on him and he wasn't answering. So I went over to his apartment and found him laying on his bed unable to move due to weakness as he hadn't been able to eat due to the pain. He was taken to the hospital where they had to take him to the OR to remove the massive abscess that had formed. He was in ICU for a week as the infection had shut his kidneys down. At one point they were talking dialysis. From there he has been in Rehab at the hospital for a week. With the grace of God and prayers from family and friends he is recovering. We still have a long road ahead. He now has to move to a new location that has staff on sight that can assist him with medications and other daily living activities. These services however come at a price. There are going to be medical bills and additional expenses that we are going to need to pay. Joe and I both work and missing even one day of work for us is a set back. We know there will be more days that we will need to take off on this road to recovery. We are just looking to have a little help to lesson some of that stress. We contemplated even doing this as we both hate asking for help. We love and appreciate everyone that has helped us and been there for us so far. You have all been amazing.
