Joanna Pacini reached into the coffin and touched her son's face.
For the first time in years, she saw the man she once knew. Gone was the angry Joseph Pacini who had threatened police on YouTube, the brooding, irrational son who called her Satan. He was again the handsome, successful middle child she called "Joey, my Joey."
--The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jan. 12, 2015
Joe Pacini, our friend and classmate, died Dec. 30, suffering from the ravages of Huntington's disease. Like Mrs. Pacini, we didn't recognize the Joey Pacini of recent years, when this extremely rare and mean disease took over his body, mind and spirit. The difficult and tragic end to his life left a sadness in us, one that many of us would like to do something about. His death left a burden on his mother, who is paying for funeral expenses and also is in need of a car. If you would like to help Mrs. Pacini, please contribute.
