Joel was one of the real ones. He was the kind of friend you knew had your back no matter what and everywhere he went his passion and charisma was evident.
Over the years, Joel evolved into a rock in the skateboarding community. He provided a shelter for kids and kept them out of trouble. Like the name says "McGinnis & Sons", he was a father to many of us. When Joel Daddy was in the house, everybody knew it. He was quick to treat you as his family, and when you didn't believe in yourself... he did.
