My name is Monica Ostby, friend to Joel Strout's Mom, Alicia Moore. I am starting this Go Fund Me account with his family's permission and the funds will be going directly to Alicia as she manages his expenses.

On Thursday October 28th approximately 6:45 PM Joel Strout was involved in a serious bicycle accident. He was struck by a vehicle and hospitalized in critical condition where he remains as of November 1st in the Pediatric ICU. He has suffered a traumatic head and brain injury where he is being monitored by hospital staff and doctors. Alicia has been at his side since Thursday.

This fund is intended to help with what is expected to be extensive medical expenses and to support his family with missed work, out-of-town family travel expenses, and emergency childcare for Joel's newborn baby sister.

I know sweet Joel is beloved by so many near and far who want to help and thought this would be the best way if you feel inclined to contribute. Knowing Joel's mom, she would never ask for help directly so I am. Information is changing minute to minute, and the doctors are evaluating if Joel needs to be transferred from Vermont to Boston for his care. At this very difficult time, the best way we can all assist is with our ability to reduce their financial burden.
