Joe Hamilton's Cancer Fund

Joe Hamilton is a 47 year old Husband, Father, Brother, and friend to many. He is the kind of friend you call on when you need anything, he will be there regardless of the cost or time. Because of this his friends have hugely stepped up to help him and are doing everything they can - but we still need more help.

In May of this year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Small Cell Carcinoma Esophagus cancer. The cancer has spread from his lower esophagus to his diaphragm into his upper stomach. Because of the spread the cancer is inoperable. He has undergone 4 rounds of chemotherapy with no changes in the tumors. His last round has left him weak and very fatigued and unable to work. Since the tumor is not growing at this point he is taking two months off from it and the doctor will decide the next move at that time.

In this time period Joe is going to try alternative therapy which will take us to Mexico. This therapy is not offered in the US and will not be paid through insurance. All costs incurred will come to nearly $20,000 out of pocket and that does not include the cost of keeping with the therapy once he returns home. We are in the process of borrowing money and selling off anything worth anything. I have a lot of faith in the therapy he has chosen to try and with his strong will to live I can’t see it failing.
