Joe Dedrick's Fight for Life

Many things have happened around Bradford Woods and the surrounding Schwenksville and Limerick area since our beloved Joe and Vicki moved in September 28, 2000. Seasons have come and gone, a generation of children have been born and raised, and so many families have been welcomed into the community. One of the constants during that time is the love and friendship the Dedricks have bestowed on our community. Everyone that walks past the last house on Ashley Drive cannot help but see the love of life and energy coming from this house. For everyone that has stopped to talk or lives down near this home, Joe is larger than life. You hear his booming voice long before you see him and are greeted with a hearty, genuine hello. Joe has touched so many in Bradford Woods and the surrounding community as a coach, parent, and honest friend through the years.

Our larger than life icon had a serious cardiac event Monday night May 13th. Joe is in critical condition and was transferred to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Tuesday evening May 14th. His family has been by his side around the clock. They originally were traveling back and forth stopping home to get necessities before quickly returning. However this has proven to be difficult, so they now have a hotel room near the hospital which they take shifts between the hospital and hotel. This also allows his family from Maryland to come see Joe for more than just a few hours on one day. Additionally as the family is essentially living down in Philadelphia, we can help with some things around their home but are not able to help them with prepared meals as friends would do.
