Joe Bauder's fight with cancer

Donation protected
One of my employees, Joe, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in late May of 2018.

He is fighting everyday,  going to treatments and pursuing every avenue to concuer cancer.  Due to the aggressiveness of the cancer Joe has been unable to work for the last two months, and won't be able to for an undetermined amount of time.

Joe and I have a great little story of how we met.  Joe came by looking for a job but I wasn't sure if I was ready, so I kept stalling him.  After coming by 4 times I finally said if he is this persistent than I better just hire him!  Joe pulled me aside once to let me know that he was the happiest he has ever been in his career.  Joe had found his life's work, he had finally settled into what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.  I can't begin to describe how happy that made me feel.  Joe found a home with us.   I didn't know at that time how close we would become.

Joe is the "shop dad", most of us are young guys just starting our careers.   When Joe came to work with us he began to naturally fill in as a role model and a leader to those who are younger than him.  His work ethic and drive are unmatched, and he has a contagious fun and loving personality.

Joe is the kind of guy who comes to website head shot photo day dressed as a pirate.  Always out to make the day fun, crack a joke, or get a jab in.

As a company and a team, we are a family.  Today one of our family members is in need of help, even with everything that we can do for Joe the bills are piling up.  It may only be a dent but I hope that as a community we can come together to help Joe's family.  I don't have any way of telling how much they will need but I know that anything will help.  Those of you that know me are aware that I rarely ask for help but  today I am asking for help with one of our own.

Joe would do anything for even a stranger, I have seen his kindness in action everyday.  Through furniture making I have been introduced to a wonderful community of friends, suppliers, craftspeople, clients, designers, and firms.  Anything that we can do for Joe to support and help him is very much appreciated.

I have set this up with Joe's permission to collect funds to offset the medical and cost of living expenses Joe's family is dealing with in this tough time.
