Our sweet mother, Jody has been battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer and it truly has been an uphill battle. Currently, she's at one of the highest peaks of that battle after several emergency surgeries. She's in a great deal of pain and our dad,Tom has stayed with her through it as much as humanely possible, holding her hand and being supportive.
Normally our family wouldn't ask for help but her hospital stay at the VA in Fresno has accrued some gas, food and lodging expenses and we could really use the support; Tom especially, who has tried to be by her side to the point of exhaustion.
Jody is our rock and has been a beautiful, smiling presence in everyone's lives. She's provided so much help and kindness to those around her, if we can return that kindness, pitch in and in return, help Tom continue to be by her side it would be great!
Anything helps really. Tom will stay with her as much as possible but occasionally needs rest. There's a hotel close by that's relatively inexpensive as well as places to eat but as you all know the cost adds up.
