It all started on Christmas Eve 2015.
Jodi was told she had stage 3 Melanoma.
In February 2016 she had a biopsy on her sentinel nodes. Melanoma was found on the left side of her chest. In April another operation was done to remove more notes.
In May 2016 she was placed on a melanoma immunotherapy trial with regular blood test and CT scans to monitor the melanoma
Only a few months later in August a lesion was found on her and an inflamed lymph node near her trachea. She was then referred to a lung surgeon further surgery to investigate.
The trachea node biopsy was clear of melanoma but was deemed to be sarcoidosis. Because of this result the professor decided to remove her from the immunotherapy trial but still do 3 monthly bloods and CT scans.
All was going well until her Sept 2017 appointment when the professor told her there was a lesion on her brain that needed to be removed ASAP as it was believed to be melanoma. So within a week she underwent brain surgery to remove the cancer.
This new melanoma has been upgraded to stage 4 which has decreased her survival changes to 15-20% over a 5 year period.
As you can imagine having to take off work and pay for treatments will be affecting the family financially. This is why I have created this GOFUNDME page. I'm sure Jodi, Marcus and the kids will appreciate every single cent that is donated. Earlier this year they booked a trip to Bali in December. Let's make it extra special for Jodi to spoil herself and create lots of memories with her family.
