Jodie's Elephant Memorial Fund

After the tragic and sudden passing of Jodie we thought that it would be a fitting tribute to make a donation in her memory to the elephant project of which she felt so passionately about. Her time there had a massive impact on her and inspired her to help the plight of the elephant, in particular the Asian elephant.

Jodie volunteered with Surin Project in October
2012. The Surin Project is a volunteer project in the north east of Thailand working to improve the living standards of captive elephants. She made a huge impact as a volunteer with her vibrant and happy personality; always smiling and staying positive. She was a brilliant volunteer; always wanting to learn more about elephants, their behaviour and how she could help to make a bigger difference for their welfare and survival.


After her time volunteering to help the elephants she was filled with a passion and a desire to help educate. Jodie created and put together her own elephant topic for her class project at school. She kept in contact with the Surin Project and made this class project very interactive. This project was a huge success with her class and at the end she held a school fate and all money raised was donated to Surin Project. 


Thank you for choosing to make a donation to Surin Project in Jodie’s name; her passion and dedication to raising awareness about the plight of elephants and supporting mahouts in improving the welfare of their elephants will continue on in your donations.

Your donations will go towards providing much needed food for our project elephants. The donations also help to show the project's mahouts that people are interested in supporting this more positive type of elephant tourism, which in turn empowers them to choose to look after and work with their elephants in this way. And that ultimately enriches the elephant’s lives; giving them much more freedom, elephant interaction and happiness.
