Jodie Faye's House Fire Relief
Donation protected
Before I get to the request of this campaign, I feel that Jodie would want everyone to know that, by the grace of God and the powers that be, she has been discharged from Vanderbilt and is currently recovering with the support of many great friends within her community. Also, her precious dog, Boo, is safe and being looked after with care.
Early Sunday, Easter morning, our beloved Mama Jodie and her neighbors were jolted awake to flames and smoke covering a large portion of their apartment complex. Thanks to the quick action of the apartment community and the first responders on the scene there were no fatalities. Jodie, however, suffered from smoke inhalation and serious burns and was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. She was released Tuesday afternoon for the next phase of recovery in which she will require extra care and attention. She will be unable to work for months as she recovers from her serious, painful injuries.
As you can see from the attached news coverage, her home is a total loss and all she made it out with was her puppy, Boo. Nothing is salvageable and there is no insurance to cover her belongings. There is already a plan for a benefit with live music, food, and a silent auction, but until then we would appreciate any help to give Jodie some sort of normalcy and comfort in the upcoming weeks and months. There is an immediate need for gift cards and/or monetary support as she begins her long healing process.
Jodie has given so much of her time, money, love, prayers, and support to so many of us throughout the years. This GoFundMe is an opportunity for us to give a tiny bit of that back to her.
