My family and I went up north for Easter weekend to spend time with family, everyone got sick with what we thought were colds. After the weekend and being home a few days, my dad was not getting any better and was having difficulty breathing. He feared it wasn’t just a cold, so my mom took him to the emergency room. They diagnosed him with Influenza B. Thankfully mom took him to the hospital when she did because while in the emergency room he suffered a heart attack. They had to place a stent near a valve in his heart to open up blockage. Currently he is in the Cardiac ICU, sedated and on a ventilator fighting the flu, fever, severe congestion, congestive heart failure, fluid buildup and diabetes. As if things couldn’t get any worse, now his kidneys are struggling and was placed on 24 hour dialysis. We won’t know the damage the heart attack may have caused until he is brought out of the sedated coma.

Dad has a history of arthritis, diabetes and has had to undergo several surgeries fusing together his neck vertebrae and also suffers from fibromyalgia which has made it extremely difficult for him to work. Outside of a few handy man jobs he hasn’t been able to work. Our home is close to being foreclosed on and now that dad is in the hospital there is no way to keep our heads above water.  The financial problems continue to escalate.

I love my father with all my heart and would give anything to be able to talk to him right now. He has always been my biggest support through everything so in return he has all the support I can possibly give him. My dad is such a loving, caring, stubborn guy but I know he will not go down without a fight. He is the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. He always lends a helping hand and never asks for anything in return.  I don't know where I would be today without him.  He’s a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and wonderful friend. We’re asking if everyone could please share this page and pray for healing for my dad. If you would like to donate to help the Jolitz family, your generosity is greatly appreciated.  If anyone is more comfortable donating directly to the family, please contact the family member you are closest to. God bless.
