Jocelyn goes to Podcasting Bootcamp

If we've talked in the past three years, you've probably heard about my love for radio and my growing desire to - well - be on it.  I am a voracious consumer of podcasts and, after a friend generously leant me his Zoom audio recorder, have spent the past several months interviewing friends about their upcoming weddings, my sweet Grandpa Buzz about his reflections on life during WWII and his relationship to God, and I even began a daily audio journal.

One night a few weeks ago I woke up at 3 in the morning with a bolt of energy and started sketching out an idea for a podcast. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since and so I've decided to make it. After three years of talking about "one day..." I've decided that the time is now. I plan to enroll in the Berkeley School of Journalism's Podcast Bootcamp this Fall - a 9-week graduate-level certificate program on developing a podcast series. The course covers all the things(!) including audio storytelling, editing & mixing, script writing, narration, recording equipment & software, launch & promotion. 

However, this course is out of reach financially given my modest nonprofit salary. So I'm humbly, and somewhat sheepishly, asking my community to help me to take this first step towards this creative goal of mine. Will you help me finance my first creative endeavor... ever?!
