Jobs with Justice

The fight for good-paying jobs and the fight against climate change go hand in hand
So that's why it was not surprising when the Sierra Club generously offered
to match every dollar donated to Southeast Michigan Jobs with Justice
(SEMJWJ) though GoFundMe, up to $500. Both groups are strong
advocates of the Green New Deal and creating good-paying green jobs.

Mostly an all volunteer operation, SEMJWJ still relies on part-time staff for
critical tasks. Pre-COVID-19, our part-time staff organized Reversing
Runaway Inequality Workshops that trained more than 400 labor,
community and faith activists in collaboration with the Communications
Workers of America (CWA) and the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI).

Every $1,000 we receive now will help keep our part-time staff person on
board for six more weeks of election-related activity, including our 80%
Project and Tele-Town Halls with For Our Future Michigan.
"Progressives agree on 80% of the issues, but they will divide themselves over
the 20%. To build power, we need to unite around the 80%.”

Rev. William Barber, Poor People’s Campaign
The 80% Project was initiated by Southeast Michigan Jobs with Justice (SEMJWJ) to help unify labor, community and faith groups around the issues we can agree on so we can win the political power we need to make the major political change that’s been long overdue.

Every dollar helps.
