Joanne's Wish

Joanne's Vision was to help create families and to empower women as they followed in her footsteps.

Joanne identified gaps in the support services for couples who found themselves on an alternative family building path.

One by one, Joanne filled those gaps with the most gentle and kind support. Forging relationships with fertility clinics, lawyers, and counsellors - making it seamless for couples to secure her support and be connected to all the professionals required to have a successful journey.

Now, as we continue to work in Joanne’s name, we have created a fund that will allow some couples to access agency support free of charge. For many couples and individuals, surrogacy is their only chance to have a child. However the financial repercussions can be devastating. For many, simply not attainable.

It is our goal to raise as much funds as we can in order to help as many people as we can, become parents. Funds will be divided between Fertility Matters Canada, Men Having Babies, and Conceivable Dreams.

Portions of the funds raised will also be going to the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Program to help with their research. This program provides so much Hope for Families going through such a scary time in their lives. TGH became our home for the last year of Joanne's time with us. The staff, the nurses, the doctors all took such great care of her and we are so thankful.
