Parkinson's patient plans to bike over 800 miles...
The 1st Annual “Rockin’ and Rollin’ Cycle Tour”

Please join us for our first ever bike ride for Parkinson’s awareness. Inspired by JoAnn Roza and her 12 year fight against Parkinson’s disease, the ride will span over 800 miles from Rhode Island to Michigan.

After over a decade of facing Parkinson’s head-on, JoAnn takes solace in two things: exercise and rock-and-roll. She’s found exercise to be a key in slowing and managing the progression of her illness. And music has been central in providing lift and inspiration on those days when her body doesn’t want to cooperate.

“This disease is like a thief,” says JoAnn. “Piece by piece, it takes away little things you always took for granted. Things like pride, self-respect, and self-reliance are easy targets for the thief. And I’ve just come to a place in my life where I’m not going to give into that without a fight.”

Talking with her neurologist about the inevitability of decline, JoAnn was advised to create a bucket list of things she wants to do while she is still able. At the top of that list? A pilgrimage to see the Kid Rock Music Lab Exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum in the motor city. With the help of her trainers at the Parkinson’s Place and the Fight Back Against Parkinson’s Foundation, JoAnn is turning her dream into a reality on May 28, 2018.

And she would love you to be a part of it.

About the Fight Back Against Parkinson's Foundation:

Founded by two Parkinson's patients, the Fight Back Against Parkinson's Foundation is committed to raising awareness about Parkinson's Disease.  Not only about the disease itself, but also the hidden challenges and obstacles faced by the people who fight against it everyday.  Through a combination of public events, PD-specific exercise programs, and alternative health research, FBAP aims to provide Parkinson's patients and their families resources to cope with the deeper effects and experiences that grow beyond the diagnosis.

The Fight Back Against Parkinson's Foundation is a non-profit corporation in the State of Rhode Island. Our 501(c)(3) status is pending.
