JoAnn Jackson Education Fund

Joann Jackson was an amazing woman that passed too soon. She was an amazing friend, wife and mother to two amazing children that will carry on her memory. She always put everyone before herself in her life and in her career. For nearly 24 years,  she served many communities as one of the best emergency medical technicians. She touched many lives during her service and made an impact on countless lives. When her body could not take the abuse from servicing on the ambulance full time she switched careers and became a public safety telecommunication (dispatcher) at Burlington County Central Communications. She believed that this was another way for her to serve the community but, there was another reason that she did it.

JoAnn was married to George Jackson who has served as a police officer for more than 20 years with the Medford Township Police Department and an Emergency Medical Technician with the Tabernacle Rescue Squad for more than 25 years. George knew that as a police officer’s wife she worried every time he walked out the door to work that he would come home safe.  She understood the importance of the person on the other side of the police radio who served as a police officer’s “life line” while they went about doing their often dangerous jobs. She set out to be the best “life line” for the police officers of Burlington County because she understood how important is was. On one night, George got to have JoAnn as his dispatcher and it was special night he will never forget. The dispatchers of the Burlington County Central Communications are often over looked and forgotten since they are never seen. JoAnn strives to be the best for the safety of not only George, but everyone.

Her untimely death left her two children without a mother and for them it is why this fund is being set up for their education to so that one day, they can help others as JoAnn helped others.
