2020 has been a tough year for everyone, which is why I didn't want to do this initially.
But many of you have asked how you can help. And while preordering my next book would still be the best show of support (and give us both something to look forward to in 2021), I understand that some of you might want to help in a smaller--though no less significant--way.
So here's that option. The current goal is the legal fees I have accrued so far; it'll likely be more when all is said and done. But every and any contribution will make a difference, even $1.
As mentioned, the situation is ongoing, and I will update as much as I can.
Should we end up exceeding the final goal, I will donate any excess to the Authors Guild so that they can better support other authors and keep them from resorting to the measures that I have. I mean it when I say this: no author should ever have to hire a lawyer.
It should not be expected of us when organizations fail us.
It should not eat up the advances and royalties that we have worked hard to earn on our books.
