Dominican Republic Missions Trip

Ever since I was a little girl I have had a heart for helping people. I remember telling my parents when I was 8 years old that I wanted to go into the Peace Corps because I just wanted to help people. As I got older I realized that life would not be like anything I had imagined. Choices are made and turns are taken and we all end up somewhere different along the path. In recent months my life has really been put into perspective. As I’m finishing up my Bachelor’s Degree in the coming months and dreaming up my next adventures in life I want to take a moment to slow down and give something meaningful back to the world.
God has been doing some amazing things in my life the last few months and he has opened the door for me to join a team to go to the Dominican Republic in July.
Every year Scott and Shelly Clegg from Breakthrough Church lead a team to the Dominican Republic. While there we will work with Pastors Danny & Denise Stone at Restoration Ranch.
Restoration Ranch is a place where children without parents or homes can come and live. They will be living in a safe and loving environment in an apartment with real house parents where they will live as a family. Most of these orphans have no concept of what a family is. Restoration Ranch is out to change that.
Restore a child. Raise up a leader. Reach a nation.
We will go into the villages with supplies and much needed rice and beans as we share the gospel. We will also work with a number of churches with whatever needs they may have. We will take school supplies to the children in the schools. A small luxury we take for granted, these children are used to having to share pencils. In addition, we will also work on projects on the Ranch as there are so many things that need to be done.
Since I am joining this team late in their fundraising efforts, I am asking for your help. I need $1800 to cover the cost of my trip, which includes supplies.
How can you get involved? First, pray for me for me, for my team and for the children and people of the Dominican Republic. God can change things by His will as you and I pray.
You can also help by giving financially to help me go help these deprived people and show the love of Jesus. The trip cost will come through gifts from friends, family and churches and fundraisers. Would you consider giving towards this ministry? If possible, please reply before July 1. Please give and pray toward my goal, as God leads you.

All I know is I love God and I love people, and I am being pulled to do this.
I believe our lives should be focused on love, to love those from different tribes and tongues, because God himself loved all people. My heart breaks for the unreached people around the world. If we love God, love people, and want to unite the two, then we should love missions!
