Here is Becky's story...
In March of 2014 Becky began having issues with her hands and the ability to do simple things that she's always done without thinking, like washing dishes. She noticed these slight changes but didn't think too much about it. A few weeks go by and her family start to notice something just isn't quite right and took her to the ER. She had what seemed to be stroke like symptoms and after a few trips to the ER and a few doctors visits that was able to be ruled out. She then was referred to a neurologist but the wait for her first appointment was long.
In the meantime, while waiting for her neuro appointment, things were getting worse. She was losing motor function quickly and was in a lot of pain. After another trip to the ER she was transferred to the Cleveland Clinic where she was diagnosed with ALS by an ALS specialist. Becky and her family were told that they believe she had the slow progressing form of ALS. Within 6 months Becky has lost all use of her legs and arms. She no longer can talk or eat and has recently been moved to a nursing facility to help keep her as comfortable as possible during her final days.
Most people who know Becky know what an amazing and loving person she is. She has unselfishly given so much of herself and her family during her time on this earth. Please help her family give her the best "going home" service they can possible give her. Funds raised here will go towards Becky's memorial expenses, head stone, cemetary plot and medical bills. Any funds left will be donated to Hospice in honor of Becky.
