Candace's journey began many years ago when she received a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy. This meant that she had an enlarged, weakened heart. As the years wenton her heart condition worsened. Candace received an ICD, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator and even fought thyroid cancer.
Over the past few months Candace's care has taken a crucial turn. She was told that she is in need of a new heart. Candace will need to undergo a heart transplant when her body is ready to accept a new heart. The first step in preparing her for a heart transplant, Candace will receive a LVAD, Left Ventricular Assist Device. This is a pump that will regulate the heart pressures and circulate the blood throughout the body.
Once the LVAD pump is surgically implanted, Candace will be in need of 24 hour care, 7 days a week. She has to become healthy enough for the heart transplant to be successful. Over the next few years Candace will need a tremendous amount of support from family and friends.
We are asking for financial support from everyone. Candace is going to need help in paying for medicine, home health care, transportation, insurance, hospital bills, etc. There are so many expenses that she will endure that we need YOUR support.
