Celtic Student Ambassadorship

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carsen Rae Helms. I am a 15 year old Sophomore at Union County Early College. I just want to go ahead and thank you for taking the time to read this, regardless whether or not you decide to donate. I am fundraising for the Celtic Culture trip with People to People Student Ambassador program. I am extremely excited to be attending on this trip. This is an opportunity of a life time. I had always been a bit of a shy kid when I younger. When I entered into the floodgates of middle school, I wanted to be more outgoing. So I had joined many clubs and sports. I saw me flourish and rise up in each of the things I had joined. Rising as a leader and seeing all these doors with unknown adventures behind them. From there my eyes were opened to the endless possibilities that I could do when I set my heart to something. So I have taken every opportunity that has come my way including other clubs that may challenge me, volunteering in a different environments, and always trying my best to learn from everyone and everything. I apply these skills I have learned in everything I do. My family owns and operates a horse training business specifically honed into the sport of cowboy mounted shooting, which is a timed event where you go through the course of fire off the back of a horse. Within this sport I have really blossomed as a competitor and entrepreneur since I was 9 years old when I wanted to start making a little extra money to support myself at competitions. I started a horse maintenance business cleaning stalls and cleaning horses and anything and everything a horse owner would need to take care of their horse at compeitions. From there it has grown into something a little bigger and I’m bringing in some money at the national competitions, growing in the six years I’ve been doing this. I have also started a youth program for one of the associations within the sport and I am continuing to grow that program. I love a challenge and want to experience everything within my grasps of what life has to offer, which is why I really want to go on this trip. This trip is taking me to Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales. Along the way we will be offered totally behind the scenes exclusive tours and experiences only for student ambassadors. Some of the big things we get to do is we will get to stay with a home family which is one aspect I am so excited to experience and see the different lifestyle from what I have known. Also we will  be volunteering harvesting and processing peat, which is a fuel that people burn for heat in the winter, that will then be donated to the elderly. Along with a bunch of little other excursions that just add to the experience. I understand that times are tough and that I am asking a lot to donate money to my cause. I hate to ask for money, but I cannot afford this trip on my own, so I am asking for your help. Any little donation you can offer is greatly appreciated. Again I thank you for your time.
