Jacqueline's Headstone/Memoria Fund

So here we go. I am honestly surprised to find myself here because I have never tried anything like this before.  I only hope that by telling my story here I can give my sister the honor I think she would have wanted.

The funds I am looking for will allow me to buy my sister Jacqueline Marie Goodwin a headstone/memorial. She passed away on July 31st 2016 while on active duty in the US Army. She was stationed in South Korea at Camp Kasey and died far too young at the age of 26. She may have only been 26 years old when she died, but she experienced more than people 3 times her age.

She was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY area and she was always full of curiosity and had big dreams and big plans. She wanted to see the world and have a platform to realize those dreams, which was one of the things that was appealing about joining the military. I had the privilege of seeing her as a bride; she got married in a ceremony about five months before she died. She was insanely smart, a talented singer and artist and had an unmatched sense of humor. I miss the talks we used to have and hearing her laugh, seeing her smile, I miss her. I was extremely proud of what she accomplished.

When the difficult task of planning her arrangements came along the burden fell to me, but it was a weight I had to bear, I had to do it for her. The Army did pay much of the arrangements, but her grave stone, her memorial was not part of it. Its now to place her memorial stone at the place where she rests and unfortunately I am not financially healthy enough to do so.

So I come here, hoping that I can find the support to give to give her a fitting tribute to honor her life, to honor a US Solder, to honor my baby sister.

*I would be in charge of ordering and paying for the memorial and I was hoping to have reached my goal before mid September so I can have it placed before the start of winter.
