Itsy Micro Shelters

Donation protected
This is my friend Chris Housley.  He has been a carpenter for 35 years, spending many of those years as lead carpenter on multimillion dollar custom homes.

He has survived more than a few struggles in his own life which left him with great compassion for others struggling in theirs and the need to address the homeless situation in our country is one he can no longer ignore.  Walking past homeless people curled up on sidewalks or in wooded areas while averting his eyes led him to question whether or not he was living up to his true potential, which in turn led to his recent decision to take his knowledge and skills as a master builder to a project that will help provide shelter, safety and comfort to those in need and do it in a way that is aesthetically  pleasing to surrounding communities.

Itsy Micro Shelters are made of high quality materials and are extremely well constructed while remaining light weight.  They have a locking door, a window/air vent and a small table that folds down.  It rolls on lockable industrial castors and can be moved with minimal effort by a couple of people.  It has ridged insulation which allows body heat to raise the inside temp up 20*.  The finishing touch is the beautiful paint job.  Who wouldn't love to see these around our cities and towns that are overflowing with homeless people right now?

It's made to last.  It's made with love.  And it's made with the hope it  can help heal the souls of the owners.

The cost of building these will be about $950 with materials running about $650-$750.  Since he's given up his job the extra cost is to help support Chris in his chosen minimalist lifestyle.  He lives in a gypsy wagon he built and it is a piece of self-sufficiency to behold!

Any amount of money you can spare to help with the Itsy Mico Shelter project will be so greatly appreciated, certainly by Chris but more importantly,  by the homeless person who will be sleeping out of the elements in a place they can actually call their own.

Thanks for reading about Chris and his dream.  Can you please take another minute and share it on social media?

Blessings to all.
