Surgery For Angus

Donation protected
BARK! I’m Angus and I’m sweet. I know you’re saying to yourself all Berners are sweet but I’m super-sweet! See, I have this problem. I am going to be 3 in December and since I was 5 months old I’ve had a wobbly butt. When I run my legs give out and I sometimes slip and fall. It's not painful and doesn’t stop me from trying to keep up with my playmates. Initially my hoomans thought it was a growth issue and I was kept quiet with only short walks and no play. The issue did not resolve itself and after many vet visits I have now been diagnosed with extradural compression of the spinal cord and I require a dorsal laminectomy . Big words that I don’t understand but the specialists are confident I can live an active, healthy life post-op. My story is my hoomans have had Berners before, know the breeder and love the breed - the good, the bad and the ugly. As they entered retirement they got me! A loyal, loving companion for walks in the woods, romps at the beach, riding shotgun in the truck doing errands, helping out with yard work and just having the best buddy and lap dog god created. My hoomans are responsible pet owners and obtained pet insurance. They knew this would cover unforeseen expenses that could affect their monthly pension and therefore always be in a position to do the right thing for me. This is the part where I ask for your consideration and kindness, the insurance provider has covered the cost of the diagnosis which included MRI and CT Scan and we’ve reached our limit. The surgery will cost between $7,500 and $8,500 and this has created a strain on my hoomans limited income. Being proud and not ones to ask for help I’m doing it for them! Any assistance, large or small, would be greatly appreciated. Being a Berner I am slow to mature which means I could enjoy what puppyhood I have left and continue to be the affectionate, happy floofer I am. Just a more active one keeping my eye on two retirees and making sure they stay out of trouble.
