Stacie's Medical Fund

Greetings!! My name is Heidi Tischer and I’m requesting a hand up for my long time dear friend Stacie Loreth. Stacie has been suffering from an intractable migraine that spontaneously started on April 30, 2017. Since then she has been diagnosed with Chronic Migraine and New Daily Persistent Headache. Stacie has been to numerous doctors and neurologists, made several trips to the ER, received several MRI’s, neurological exams, nerve blocks, IV infusions and Botox and has been placed on many different types of medications. Homeopathic remedies such as chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, daith studs, essential oils and elimination diets have also been explored. Yet nearly nine months have passed and Stacie is still battling the same migraine/headache 24/7. However, her determination to get to the root cause and find a cure remains strong.  In June, Stacie and her parents traveled to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota searching for answers. Unfortunately, Mayo was unable to find a remedy for her. So in December, Stacie and her Dad traveled to the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, IL, which has been named one of the top headache clinics in the country, praying for some answers and hopefully a cure. She was placed inpatient in their hospital for 13 days. During that time, she received several daily IV medications, biofeedback twice a day, a psychological exam, acupuncture, attended several informational meetings, physical therapy and massage. At the end of January, Stacie and her Dad will travel back to Chicago for a follow-up visit with her neurologist as the migraine has not lifted. Despite persistent pain, Stacie has returned to work in a part-time capacity and placed on long-term disability as per her doctor’s recommendations.  With Stacie’s limited hours at work and reduced income with long-term disability, her income is just covering her regular bills. As I am sure you can imagine, the doctor appointments, tests, ER visits, numerous medications, nerve blocks, homeopathic remedies and expenses incurred while traveling out of state for medical care has been very expensive and not fully covered by her health insurance.  With the start of the New Year, Stacie is once again facing a high deductible and out of pocket maximum through her health insurance.
