Today, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, my coworker Jayne, a manager at Camp Kitty, was closing up shop when she got a call. This was not out of the ordinary, as, being a business, we handle calls every day from customers. Jayne soon realized, though, that this call was urgent. A man was calling Camp Kitty asking for help: his home was burnt down, and he and his 5 cats have nowhere to stay. The anonymous man stressed that his cats were family and that he would do whatever he could to keep them, including paying to board them at Camp Kitty. Jayne was understanding of his story and wanted to help, but cats have to be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccines in order to board at Camp. Thankfully, she took down his information and shared it with us coworkers. My friend Sydney immediately felt a strong desire to help this little family stay together, and immediately contacted the man needing assistance. She offered to help him get all his cats fixed and vaccinated so that they could stay at Camp Kitty until he gets housing and back on his feet. He was so grateful for the assistance and agreed! Now, all we need is to get these babies fixed and vetted so that they can hang out at Camp Kitty with us until they can go back to their life with their amazing dad. Thankfully, Sydney has been able to handle all the hands on aspects of this mission: from the spay and neuter all the way to getting the cats to Camp Kitty. However, money for the spay and neuter is an issue. These cat's owner just lost his home, and we want to take a bit of the burden off of him and raise money for his cats to get fixed, so that at least he doesn't have to worry about that! It costs $50 to spay or neuter each cat, and any donation helps. We will be continuing to provide updates, as this is going to be a quick turnaround mission that we hope to be completed in less than a week. Stay tuned, and thank you for considering!
