Save Simon

Donation protected
My name is Anna and I am reaching out after far too long and asking for help.
My boyfriend Simon is desperate to get back to work and live like a normal 26 year old but instead is chained to his bed most of the day or at medical appointments. It has been a painful 15 months and the end is not insight but we hold onto Hope. Watching him daily is tormenting and I just want my Simon back and able to live fully.

Short story - Simon suffered severe bloods clots (30cm long) which lead to compartment syndrome, foot drop,  and nerve damage due to surgeries for dead muscle tissue removal.

We would greatly appreciate any donations to help cover the large expenses already lost and to help with ongoing medications and medical treatment as he is a rare case. Thank you for your time and donations!

Here is our longer story if you are interested!

My boyfriend Simon lost his Dad June 30th 2016 to Pancreatic Cancer which was a truly painful time and watching him grieve was unbearable at times. I did not know if our relationship would make it through this tough time. Simon along side his grief became extremely exhausted and began to experience pain in his legs which continued for some time. No diagnosis was found and the pain increased to a point where he began to lose his ability to walk.

After a visit to emergency he was sent home with no diagnosis - days went by and I knew something was not okay. I sent him to a specialist and that very day he was sent into hospital for an emergency procedure. He was told he had blood clots in both his legs and would be in and out of hospital within a few days. The morning of his first procedure (May 10th 2017) he couldn't even stand up, falling back onto the bed several times before attempting to shower.

That very night I returned to the hospital expecting to see him back in his room, instead I found him barely conscious in ICU where he would remain for 8 days fighting for his life and his legs. Those were some of the scariest days as we did not know what was happening. Simon developed Compartment Syndrome and the complications followed as they tried to clear the clots, stop him from bleeding out and save his legs.  His leg wounds remained open for nearly a month (I will not post those images as they are very graphic) 2 months in hospital, 8 surgeries and they saved his leg but did not know if it would work properly again. This photo reminds me that no matter what, there is always something to smile about. He was in unbearable pain, crying throughout dressing changes, unable to sit up, more surgeries to close final wound and yet he smiled! Simon would then go on to teach himself to walk again against all odds however, lives with chronic pain.
This is one of the scars spanning nearly 40cm long and the other on the outside of his right leg. Simon is yet to go back to work as he battles chronic nerve pain and is still unable to do daily tasks with ease.

Thank you to all in advance for your love and generosity - please know it is greatly appreciated.
