Glisson/Whitman Family

On October 30th, I recieved a phone call from my best friend Heather Glisson (Whitman). She was so excited to tell me that she was pregnant. Yup, Travis and Heather were expecting their third child! The last few years have been hard with them so far away so it was wonderful to hear them both excited.

Travis and Heather have been together for nine years, married for five and have two beautiful boys, Briggs (3) and Jax (1). Heather was a teacher for the medically fragile and intellectually disabled children. Travis went back to school to become a lineman and after graduating from the Avista Lineman Program he soon recieved a job opportunity in Williston, North Dakota. This was very exciting for them as it gave Heather the opportunity to be at stay at home mom but it also put their family on one income. Although it was difficult to say good bye, the Glisson Family packed up and settled in their new home 868 miles away from Spokane, WA.

The reason I am putting this together is because Travis and Heather recieved a very big surprise at their first doctor visit. When they thought they would be welcoming one more baby into their family, they found out they will acutally be welcoming TRIPLETS! This is truly a blessing from God and they know that they wouldn't be given anything they can't handle. Many people can imagine the hardships that come with having triplets, financially and physically, but Travis and Heather also had to make a very difficult decision. With being so far away from friends and family and due to the fact that Williston does not have a NICU or specialist to care for Heather and the triplets they decided that Heather and the boys will move back to Spokane. This was a very difficult decision but moving home would give them good healthcare and more support.

Travis is an amazing Dad and works very hard to supply for his family. The distance apart will be very difficult on him and the whole family. Being on a single income to support the medical needs and baby supplies for triplets is difficult enough but they will also be paying two rents, two utilities, etc. I am asking for financial support for the Glisson Family not only to help them with medical bills and supplies for all three babies but also extra help to support Travis taking time off of work to come home for frequent visits once the babies are born. The cost to travel is very high and unfortunately Travis will have to take some unpaid leave to be with his family.

I have known Heather for many years and been part of her growing family from the beginning. She is the most wonderful person and most giving mom to Briggs and Jax. Neither, Travis or Heather are ones to ask for help but I can't think of someone more deserving for a little act of kindness.
