Help us finally become parents

Hi, my name is Cyndee and my husband is Hunter. I'm a planner so when it came time to plan having a family I thought everything would go the way "it was supposed to." Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Hunter and I got married on March 14, 2009. Soon after that, in August we began to actively try to get pregnant. My mom had 3 kids by the time she was 25 so I thought "this will be no problem for me." I had heard the saying; if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans. That never really hit me until I started my journey of getting pregnant.

After a few months of trying to become pregnant and it being unsuccessful I decided to call my doctor. She let me know that sometimes it takes about a year for any birth control to get out of my system. Trusting the doctor I didn't think to get any tests done and didn't really worry about it and just blamed by lack of pregnancy on that darn birth control.

About a year and a half later I went to my OB/GYN and explained by frustration and she put me on Clomid. After 3 rounds of that being unsuccessful she suggested a HSG test. I was ready to go through with that, but to my surprise I got what I had been waiting for, the greatest word I had ever seen: "PREGNANT"! Finally! Our battle was won! Hunter and I were soooo happy and told just about everyone we knew. Unfortunately, 9 weeks into my pregnancy I received the most heart-breaking news. I fell into the percentage of women who had a miscarriage. This was the single worst day of my life and I can still remember every detail of that day like it was yesterday. I had to go into surgery to remove my child from my body and they needed to do testing on my baby because things did not look right in the last sonogram I had. A few weeks later we got the answer for the miscarriage: 2 sperm fertilized one egg. Something that was extremely rare and would probably never happen again.

After healing from the loss we went to a fertility specialist that was referred to us by a family friend. We underwent every test you could think of, all of them came back normal.  We went through 3 rounds of IUI that were unsuccessful.  Being super frustrated and needing a break, we took one.

During this time we went to an infertility seminar that my sister told me about and found the greatest acupuncture doctor who has become family to us. After about 6 months of seeing her, she referred us to another infertility specialist. We met with him and came up with a game plan to get pregnant. The planner inside of me was ready. It was all planned. I thought, "This time it is going to work." We went through another 3 rounds of IUI. All unsuccessful. Our doctor suggested that we get our genetic tested. I thought we had done every test possible but I was wrong.  When we went to the office to get the results the doctor said "Well, I think we have figured it out." He then let us know that there was an abnormal chromosome within my genetics. I think I blacked out and left my body at some point in that appointment.  He let us know that we needed to talk to a genetics specialist because he did not know the details of what the abnormal chromosome would mean for us becoming parents to our own biological kids. So, I made an appointment and 3 long weeks later I found out from the genetics specialist that the abnormal chromosome that I had would not affect us getting pregnant and having our own kids. This was such a relief for me and my husband.

After all the tests, 6 failed IUI treatments and over 5 years of trying to get pregnant we are left with one option, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The problem is that this procedure is not covered under my insurance or my husband's insurance. This procedure is in the ball park of about $20,000 plus the cost of medicine which is another $5,000-$7,000. Unfortunately, this makes the procedure almost impossible for us.  We are asking for help. Any donation gets us one step closer to becoming parents.

Please share this with your friends and family.
