Funeral expenses and travel

On December 31, 2013 I learned that my mother has passed away. Thank you in advance for your condolences. I currently live in Oregon and all of the funeral arrangements are in NY. Flights are averaging $700 - $800. Addition expenses for funeral arrangements are unknown. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I may be able to go say goodbye to my mother.
