Jason Silva's Funeral Fund

With great sadness we are asking for your help.  Our dear friend, Jason Silva was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer.

At age 44, Jason has a lot of life left. He has a bright spirit and a strong determination to beat this.   The doctor's have told him that his cancer has mestastasized.  They have found tumors in his brain, liver, pancreas, stomach, lungs and lymph nodes.

Anyone who knows Jason, knows what a kind, funny and caring guy he is.  He would give you the shirt off his back.  He is a hard worker, a committed husband and loving father and grandfather.  He is a great friend.

Around the end of October, Jason had an enlarged lymph node that sent him to the doctor for an evaluation.  The doctor ordered a biopsy and it came back inconclusive.  After several tests and a trip to the ER, the doctor's told Jason it was cancer.  He had begun losing motor function in his left hand so the doctor ordered a CT scan.  They found tumors in the brain and scheduled surgery immediately.  They hoped that they could help to reduce the pressure on the nerve causing the motor function delay, and biopsy the tumor.  Several days after the surgery, Jason did experience improved motor function of his left hand.  Unfortunately, he has recently developed a severe cough and has been unable to eat due to nausea and intense stomach pain.

When he returned to the doctor to receive the results of the biopsy he found the results, once again, were inconclusive and the prognosis even more grim.   Not knowing the type of cancer makes it very difficult to treat and prevents the doctor's from prescribing chemotherapy.  Without chemo,  there is only a few options; removal or radiation treatment. Jason will be undergoing radiation therapy to kill any remaining cancer in his brain and try to shrink the tumor under his arm.   I'm sure you can imagine the toll this has taken on him and his family.

His focus needs to be on getting well, not on keeping his electricity on or food on the table.  He is the sole provider of his family of seven and due to the agressiveness of the cancer, Jason has been unable to work.  His out of pocket medical expenses have quickly piled up and insurance continues to "select" the testing and treatment that will be covered.

We wish there was some way, any way, we could heal him.  It is so difficult to see someone you love go through this and not know how to help.  This is why we have put this gofundme page together for him and his family.

He is committed to fighting this but does not wish for that fight to cause financial hardship to his family.  They are already suffering enough and he does not want to leave them with the additional burden of overwhelming expenses.  Your gift will help him and his family weather this storm.  If you are unable to give money, please keep him and his family in your prayers.

With our sincerest gratitude,
Aaron and Maria Clark
