Our Favorite Prom Queen Needs Us!

Our favorite Prom Queen, Alyson Lerch, needs our help!

While visiting her brother, Cody, at Ft. Leonard Wood to deliver his Christmas gifts, Alyson suffered a grand mal seizure which led to cardiac arrest on December 28th.  She has been in ICU at a hospital in Springfield, MO, for the past 4 days, hours away from her home and doctors.  Her entire family has been by her side this entire time, as all of us have prayed and waited for good news.  Praise God, Alyson is now stable enough to be flown to Tulsa for further hospitalization and care.  As many of you know, Alyson was born with a rare disorder called Lissencephaly.  We also all know that her family has provided the best possible care for Alyson, who is soon to celebrate her 20th birthday!

My name is Jamie, and Alyson's mother, Michelle, has been a dear friend of mine for many, many years.  I am honored to call her a friend, and believe Michelle to be one of the kindest, most humble, and giving individuals that I have ever known.  I KNOW that you all feel the same way!  Despite her struggles, Michelle always has a smile on her face, looks for the positive and unconditionally GIVES her support and love to any and all that need it.  She has helped others when she had little to spare, even giving those in need a place to stay in her home, with her family.  There are few people we can count on in life to be with us through thick and thin, and I personally know that Michelle is that person.  I love her dearly, and know that you do, too.  She has touched many, many lives!

Now, it's our turn to do for Michelle, Alyson, and the entire Lerch clan, what we all know Michelle would do for us.  Although Alyson is on her way home to Tulsa, the road ahead will be long.  Alyson will require extensive medical care, and additionally now needs palliative care at home.  Michelle's own health is declining, and her doctors have recommended bypass surgery in January.  Michelle will be unable to work to help support the family, and needs to focus on Alyson's health and care more than ever.

Please join me in trying to give back a little bit to our wonderful friend, Michelle, and her beautiful daughter, Alyson.  Your gift, no matter how small, will be appreciated, and please, everyone, continue your prayers for our special girl and favorite Prom Queen, Alyson.
