Jiu Jitsu vs. AAPI Hate

The Jiu Jitsu community stands united against racism. Hate and violence against Asian American and Pacific Islander communities has rampantly risen during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are coming together through the Gentle Art, as a community, to raise awareness and fight against this.

We will be hosting a charity Jiu Jitsu seminar to fundraise for this cause. All proceeds will be donated to the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON), one of the founding organizations of the Stop AAPI Hate initiative. More information about the Stop AAPI Hate Initiative as well as A3PCON can be found below.

Seminar attendance will be strictly limited to 50 attendants. Minimum donation for seminar attendance will be $100 and on a first come first serve basis as per donation. We absolutely DO accept donations without attendance. All those who donate and are unable to attend will be automatically entered into a raffle for a variety of high quality jiujitsu gear donated by our sponsors. More information on specific raffle prizes will be released in the coming weeks.

After your donation, please email your receipt to [email redacted] (no space), or utilize the contact us button located below on this page. You will be contacted directly via email with a confirmation of your reservation and additional seminar information.

Seminar will be held on from 12PM-2PM April 25 in Mineola, Long Island with instruction with multiple time world champion Paulo Miyao.

A3PCON
"The Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON) is a coalition of community-based organizations that advocates for the rights and needs of the Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Community To accomplish this mission, A3PCON strives to:
Serve as a vehicle for promoting the needs, interests and concerns of the APIA Community to policy makers and the general public.

Promote collaboration, planning and collective action amongst its members to support common advocacy/policy, organizational development and capacity-building goals.

Activate the APIA electorate and promote public accountability to the APIA Community through non-partisan political and electoral participation."

Stop AAPI Hate
"In response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched the Stop AAPI Hate reporting center on March 19, 2020. The center tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

Our approach recognizes that in order to effectively address anti-Asian racism we must work to end all forms of structural racism leveled at Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color.

Our 5-pronged approach is to:

– Serve as the leading aggregator of anti-Asian hate incidents
– Offer multilingual resources for impacted community members
– Provide technical assistance from rapid response to preventative measures
– Support community-based safety measures and restorative justice efforts
– Advocate for local, state, and national policies that reinforces human rights and civil rights protections"
