Jingle Dress for Ts'khudawai

My daughter Ts'khudwai (The Spark That Ignites The Fire Under The Mountain) turned 16 this month and has blossomed into a beautiful young woman. Her jingle dress has danced with her for 8 years. All the hems have been let out, all the panels have been put in. I want to honor my beautiful gurl and her coming of age with a new jingle dress.   

She's had a lot of loss in the last three years. Her Grandfather died in September 2015 and right after her year of mourning, her Daddy died December 2016. She is anxious to dance in their honor and dance her prayers. 

I love my beautiful baby. She's gentle and loving and fierce. She is studying traditional plant medicine and jars it for elders to have for the winter. She is in a program in high school that allows her to get college credits and her plan is to become a midwife.  She volunteers in her community. She is an activist and a Water Protector. 

We'll post photos as all the pieces of her regalia come together and photos of her dancing at the Pow Wow.  Her first Pow Wow is on May 5th & 6th, 2018. My prayer is for her to dance in her new dress.
