Help Fund My Dad's Dream -Phase 2

My name is Rachel Welninski. I am reaching out to you because I am trying to help my dad, Jim. He is truly one of the most gifted photographers I have ever seen and has recently been offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
He has been pursuing the arts for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the road, he lost his way, sank into addiction, and his life crashed. With the help of those of us that love him very much, he received the help he needed and has really turned his life around. Over the past 5 years, I have watched him work very hard to completely rebuild himself while a talent I didn’t know he had began to show itself. He has worked long and hard to bring his photography from nothing but an idea in his head to where it is today. With very little money and by teaching himself he has won awards at a few of the shows he has participated in and I’m very proud of him. He believes that art is very important to our growth as individual people and as a society in general. My dad believes that art is a big part of what makes life complete. Which is why his long term goal is to be able to teach others and pass on what he has learned so that others can experience the same joy from their own work.
Last weekend he was offered an opportunity to study with Julia Anna Gospodarou, one of the best and most famous fine art architectural photographers in the world. She enjoys his work and gave him the chance to attend a private workshop with her, followed by a 6 month mentorship. This can truly take my dad’s work to the next level.
The tuition is not cheap and neither are the materials. My dad works as a massage therapist so even though he spends his days truly helping people, he does not make much money, hence this page.
We need to raise $13,000 for his tuition and materials. This is Phase One of that. Seeing him today and remembering where he was 5 years ago, it seems like a miracle to have my dad back. Those of you that know him already know how important this is to him. I really believe he was meant to do this and that this opportunity did not come by accident. No donation is too small.
