Jim’s Lung Transplant

As most of you know,   Jim was diagnosed with emphysema 15 years ago.   This disease is progressing quickly,  leaving Jim struggling to breathe and every day is becoming a challenge for him.   He has recently been accepted to the Lung Transplant Program at Toronto General Hospital,  for which we are all very thankful.   This will entail 3 weekly trips to Toronto while he waits for a double lung transplant.    Baring any complications Jim will be in hospital for 3-4 weeks following surgery, and Lori will be staying with him.  Once Jim is released from Hospital they will have to live in Toronto for an unknown length of time due to the follow up required with the Doctors and Transplant Team.   After he is back home there will be intensive follow up care at Toronto General, again requiring 3 weekly visits for several months.  

On top of their regular, everyday expenses they will be responsible to cover the additional costs in Toronto for rent, parking, gas, and equipment.   Rent alone can easily surpass $3000.00 per month in Toronto.  Add to this the cost of daily parking and the costs can  quickly become overwhelming.

We would like to ease their burden by raising funds to help cover their expenses during this difficult and stressful time.   If you can find it in your heart to help it would be appreciated more than you can ever realize.
