Jim's Burn Recovery Fund

In August 2021, Jim was badly burned in a propane explosion. He was hurt while smoking meat at his new restaurant Earl's Steak Sandwiches in Dover NH.

Jim opened Earl's with his family in September of 2020, during the worst of the pandemic. As new business owners, Jim and his wife were not yet insured. Jim was hospitalized for over 3 weeks. He suffered burns to his face, hand, arms and legs, and underwent skin graphs on both legs. The team at Mass General did an amazing job caring for Jim and he is now home and on the path to recovery. The medical bills for the amazing care are still coming in, and legal fees will soon follow.
Jim and his family are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support they have received through cards, visits, calls, help with child care, gifts of food, and help around the house.
