On Friday, May 10th we lost a beloved member of our community, Jimmy Nixon.  Jimmy leaves behind two children, his daughter Ryah and his son Xan.

Jimmy touched countless lives through his non-profit Broadway Bound, including over 20,000 children who have participated, their parents who supported them and the organization and many, many others. 

This past February, Jimmy went into the hospital for surgery thinking he's be home no more than 5 days later.  Tragically, he suffered rare and serious complications, which kept him on a ventilator and prevented him from ever completely regaining full consciousness.  Because of this unexpected outcome his affairs were not in order.  As a result, his estate is going into probate and all of his accounts have been frozen.  His family anticipates that it will take several months to untangle the details of his estate and finances.

In the meantime, Ryah and Xan are anxious to honor him and his memory with a Celebration of Life sometime in early June, but are unable to fund what will surely be a large, colorful and emotional memorial.   There have been many offers to help, so friends have rallied to set up this Go Fund Me to pay for funeral and memorial expenses and to help his children with the transition.  With this fund, we want to put together a proper send-off for Jimmy Nixon, a man who was an Actor, Father, Mentor, Brother, Son, Teacher, Friend and all-around lovely person who made everyone who was lucky enough to know him feel special and important.

In the collaborative sprit of Broadway Bound, Ryah and Xan would appreciate any support you can contribute.  They are also open to large venue suggestions and performance/speaker ideas.  The celebration is tentatively scheduled for June 10th.
