Jimmy Nicholas Fund

I have been very fortunate to call James (Jimmy) Nicholas my good friend for over 50 years. His friendship and his gifted talents of love and caring for others have always amazed me and my family. As some of you may know, Jimmy has been stricken with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer that has metastasized to his liver in 6 or 7 areas, including in his lymph nodes in his liver, that was diagnosed on April 3rd of this year. His Oncologist in New Jersey has recommended that he undergo an aggressive Chemo Therapy treatment; however, there are a few major difficulties with Jimmy undergoing Chemo Therapy.  The first difficulty is that Jimmy is very weak because of the sudden loss of weight, secondly, because of the location of the tumor, which is positioned within his gastrointestinal area which is causing significant pain throughout his entire body and lastly, the doctors have to monitor his heart through all of this due to his artificial mitral valve. These difficulties coupled with having a feeding tube inserted in his stomach has limited his food intake to a liquid diet of broth, when tolerated by mouth (which is not often), but mostly liquid nutrition from a can through his feeding tube. Before starting on this journey he weighed around 210 pounds, he now weighs 182 pounds. That's a quater of his body weight! The main issue is that Jimmy is battling major digestive issues, which include, but are not limited to, vomiting every day which will not be controlled until the tumor, which is approximately 5 centimeters or the size of a lime, has been reduced significantly and the cancer is in total remission.

Jimmy has been confronting the fact that he will die soon if he doesn’t do something. BUT THERE IS HOPE! Jimmy’s Oncologist, the same doctor that treated Jim’s father-in-law last year with much success has ensured Jim that with aggressive treatment his chances of survival could be very strong. This medically supervised program will target Jimmy’s cancer in a very strategic manner. In fact, they know of many patients that have had remarkable recoveries from cancer at this New Jersey cancer facility. So we know it works, and right now it is his best and only shot.

Any generous contribution will cover travel, living and treatment expenses for many months and will give Jimmy a chance. Please help anyway you can, James and Tammie will humbly accept it.
