It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Mike McCaffrey’s son, “Jimmy” aka James Elliot McCaffrey, who was only 38 years old. This is an incredibly difficult time for The McCaffrey family, and we want to extend our deepest condolences and support.

Jimmy was a remarkable individual—a dedicated rancher, ranger, and trainer of 62 rescue horses at Saddle Up Wine Tours, a renowned campground that attracted visitors from around the world for its unique blend of horse riding and wine tasting. As the owner’s right-hand man, Jimmy’s passion, leadership, and commitment left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him and experienced his work. Tragically, he leaves behind a beautiful 7-year-old daughter, who was the light of his life.
