JMoss Birthday Give Back

Today is my birthday and I want to invite you to celebrate with me by giving back to something that's very near and dear to my heart. Many of you know I grew up in foster care right here in the state of Oklahoma.

Currently, there are over 400,000 kids in state custody all throughout the nation. A few years ago the state of Oklahoma launched something called the 111Project. The 111Project was created to mobilize the church to make sure that no child is without a home when they need one.

I was one of these kids. I'm here today because a family a faith took me in and became my forever family. I'm so grateful for Gerald & Ramona Moss and their commitment to my life. They changed the trajectory of my life forever. 

Within the 111Project is something called the Care Portal. The Care Portal is an online tool to help churches in Oklahoma meet the needs of hurting children and families. It allows the tangible needs of these children and families to be posted online for others to step in and fill. The Care Portal has met needs ranging from purchasing beds, to paying electric bills, providing groceries, and much, much more. 

In our state there are 77 counties and it takes right at $4000 to launch a county with the Care Portal. To date, we have launched the Care Portal in 10 Oklahoma counties. 

I'm asking you to partner with me to help pay it forward for my birhtday this year. Together, I believe we can launch at least one county in our state and provide a pathway for these tangible needs to be met. 

We can make a difference together! Let's see the foster care crisis resolved in our great state by opening up another channel for people to get involved. Together we can help meet the needs of these families and children.
