Jim McQuown's Medical Expenses

You may not know this, but my long-time friend, (and many of yours), Jim McQuown, has been battling cancer for almost a year now. It was originally diagnosed in his left kidney, which has been surgically removed. However, recently he found out that the cancer has found it’s way into his liver and lungs.  So far, the first stage of medicine has not proved to be successful. Unfortunately, the new Immunotherapy protocol recommended by his Oncologist, which is imperative for his treatment, has been denied by insurance at this time. Jimmy is currently only being treated with one third of the treatment protocol that is optimal for him to get better!

Jim is not only a wonderful friend, but one of the very best dads I know! He is a divorced, single full time dad of two great kids, who he has done an amazing job of raising on his own for the last seven years! His love and dedication to his family has always been incredibly admirable! As a matter of fact, through all of this, he has only been out of work for five months.  Can you even imagine that he has been working sixty-plus hours a week, to continue to support his family, his household, along with the financial burden of medical expenses, while undergoing this cancer treatment!

Jim is a proud and strong Irishman…who would not even THINK to ask for anyone’s support,…SO I AM ASKING FOR HIM…because that is what friends are for! We all need to help each other!

So, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude ahead of time to all of the 'kids' we went to school with, family, friends, friends of friends, coworkers, parents out there who love their kids and can imagine what this means to his own kids,…and to anyone who helps to support my friend Jim and his family at this time.
