Clara is a wife, mother and grand-mother and about a month ago she became very ill and was taken to urgent care to be evaluated. Since she was in a high risk situation, she had to be transported from urgent care to a local hospital where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Clara is the care-giver to her husband Jim and he had to be left behind with family members. She spent 6 dreadful days in the hospital away from her husband and if you know them, they love each other and are never away from each other. Unfortunately, while in the hospital she began to have complications with her heart. She was treated and released and is now being monitored for the heart complications.
Unfortunately, two days after Clara was released from the hospital and to make matters worse her husband Jim had a terrible fall and was transported to a local hospital. Jim was diagnosed with spinal stenosis (where it made his back and legs very weak), which required immediate surgery to relieve pressure from his spinal cord and he spent the next 7 days in the hospital. Since Jim had the surgery he was not allowed to come home, he was released from the hospital and had to be transported to a rehabilitation care center for recovery and physical therapy in hopes of gaining some of his mobility back, he has a long recovery but remains a positive attitude. His goal is for him to regain his strength in his arms and legs so that he can come home to his wife and family.
Jim & Clara live on a limited income and are now under a tremendous amount of stress with the medical bills piling up. The situation is where they have to pay for daily and for ongoing medical treatment and transportation to and from appointments since Jim cannot get up and walk. They do so much for everyone and are very giving people. We love them and pray that the Good Lord will allow them to be home together again.
