Jim Atkinson's Lung Cancer Expenses

Donation protected
Jim Atkinson is a husband and a father to three daughters, ages 30, 26, and 14. In early November 2017, he was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer, stage 3B out of 4 stages. It happened quickly, with doctors stating the cancer only began to form in the last 7-9 months. Home remedies and diet changes were immediate.  The original tumor is high in the lung, so surgery is not an option. The cancer has spread to both lungs through nodes, but for now Jim's bone marrow results are thankfully clear.

Tomorrow is a big day. Jim will begin weekly chemo and 5 day a week radiation. He is a fighter and wants to keep working as long as he can, although his job as a machinist is quite physically demanding. We will continue hope that the treatment is handled well by his body so he can continue his life's work as long as possible.

For now, medical bills begin to file into the home and the 20 mile drive one-way, five days a week, will add a large amount to travel expenses, too.

Our family knows this will be a long journey because fighting is harder than giving up. As we hope to keep the lights on, food on the table for his youngest daughter, and our family home out of foreclosure with these unexpected expenses, the Atkinson's would greatly appreciate your support. No amount is too big or small. Thank you!
